Course Overview

This refresher first aid at work course is for people in the UK who want to renew their current, valid First Aid at Work certificate.

Please keep in mind that the requalification course is demanding, with little practise time, and is intended for people who still hold their certificate. You must work at the required speed if you opt to do the requalification course.

FAWR Modules

This two-day course covers the entirety of the three-day First Aid at Work curriculum in just two days.

  • Adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Asthma
  • Reaction to allergens
  • Communication and emergency care
  • Scalds and burns
  • Injuries to the bones, muscles, and joints
  • Chest discomfort
  • Adult choking
  • Injuries to the head
  • Injuries to the eyes
  • Fainting
  • AED Defibrillator pad positioning (theory-based)
  • Prompts from defibrillators and how to respond (theory-based)
  • Taking care of an emergency
  • Low blood sugar levels
  • Poisons and how to treat poisoned individuals
  • Bleeding can be minor or severe.
  • The First Responder’s Role (including knowledge understanding of health and safety laws)
  • Seizures
  • Stroke
  • Shock
  • Adult who is unresponsive
  • Spinal injury
  • Bandages
  • Cuts, scrapes, bruises
